MEYERS, Calif. (News Nation/KTXL) — One person is dead and another injured after a small plane crashed near Lake Tahoe.
The Federal Aviation Administration said two people were on board the single-engine Cessna 172 when it went down Tuesday afternoon in a field in Meyers, just south of Lake Tahoe Airport.
Deputies found the plane upside down in a wooded area, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the person who survived the crash was transported to the Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, about 50 miles north of Meyers.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating what caused the crash.
