House Democrats and the GOP are clashing over who should qualify to sit on the Intelligence Committee. In Eric Swalwell’s case, Republicans are pointing to his association with a suspected Chinese spy who helped raise funds for Swalwell’s 2014 reelection campaign. Swalwell has reportedly since cut ties with the suspected spy. Scott Bolden, former chairman of the D.C. Democratic Party, says there’s no reason not to take a chance on Swalwell.
