Iranian activist lobbies for change at United Nations | CUOMO
Mohsen Shekari, a 23-year-old Iranian, was hanged to death Thursday after being convicted of “waging war against God” during protests in the country. A human rights organization described Shekari's prosecution as "a show trial." It was the first-known execution of a protester, thousands of which have taken to the streets over the past four months to voice opposition to clerical laws. Nazanin Nour, an actor, activist, and daughter of Iranian immigrants to the U.S., is working to get the United Nations to kick Iran off the Commission on the Status of Women. She joined “CUOMO” to discuss her efforts. #Iran #iranprotests #womensrights
